Woosuk Kenneth Choi is the International Editor of the Future Planning Department at the Chosun Daily Newspaper, overseeing the Asian Leadership Conference(ALC) which is held annually. As a junior journalist, he founded the Asian Leadership Conference hosted by the Chosun Daily Newspaper in 2005. Since then, the ALC has grown into the largest international conference held in the private sector in Korea.
He is currently serving as the Executive Vice Chairman of the International Press Institute (IPI) and as the Vice President of Journalist Association of Korea. He served as the President of Korea Automobile Journalist Association in 2015~2016.
Prior to his current position, he covered various Korean industries such as automotive, shipbuilding, real estate, etc, as the Deputy Editor of the Business and Industry News Desk in 2014-2015.
Mr. Choi also worked as the Editor of Political News at the TV Chosun, a subsidiary of the Chosun Media Group in Korea. He covered the Blue House as well as foreign affairs and military issues in 2012-2014.
Before this, Mr. Choi was Assistant Editor of Business and Industry News Desk at the Chosun Daily Newspaper in 2009-2012, responsible for market coverage in automotive news as well as foreign investment in Korea. In addition, he was in charge of Chosunilbo’s launching of broadcasting business from 2009-2010.
From 2005-2009 he was the Chief Washington Correspondent, covering the North Korean nuclear crisis, Korea-US bilateral relationship, Korea-US FTA, etc.
Since he joined the Chosunilbo in 1992, Mr. Choi has covered political affairs, social affairs, and business and economics for the past 20 years.
He holds BS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and MPA from Harvard Kennedy School. He also holds MA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the media leader of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
