IPI is a Vienna-based global network of editors, media executives and leading journalists. We are dedicated to furthering and safeguarding press freedom, protecting freedom of opinion and expression, promoting the free flow of news and information, and improving the practices of journalism.

Anita Pratap is an award-winning international journalist, author and documentary filmmaker, having worked in Asia, Middle East, Europe and the United States. She is Contributing Editor for India's largest selling English newsmagazine "The Week". She is CNN’s former  South Asia Bureau Chief; worked for Time Magazine and leading Indian media. She received many awards, including the coveted American George Polk Award for her coverage in CNN of Kabul’s takeover by the Taliban.  She won the Chameli Devi Jain Award for her “sensitive portrayal of the human condition”. An instant bestseller, her book “Island of Blood” published by Penguin sold out in six days, creating publishing history. Her book “Unsung” was course material for a leadership course in the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. She is a Board Member of the Switzerland-based Women’s International Network as well as the Vienna-headquartered Women Without Borders. Anita is an Ambassador for "Arendalsuka", Norway's prestigious Annual Festival of Democracy. The other eight Ambassadors include former Prime Ministers of Norway and head of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee.  She currently lives in Oslo  and she  is  an Ambassador for "Arendalsuka", Norway's biggest "Festival of Democracy" attended by 65,000 citizens.
